Assistência social na era neoliberal e as vanguardas do Serviço Social brasileiro/ Social Welfare and the vanguards of Social Service in the neoliberal era

O objetivo do presente artigo é o de apresentar um balanço provisório do desempenho das vanguardas profissionais no âmbito da assistência social ao longo dos treze anos dos governos do Partido dos Trabalhadores. A hipótese de investigação que o subsidia é a de que a chegada de Luíz Inácio Lula da Silva à Presidência da República no Brasil em 2003 descortina uma conjuntura intrincada para o Serviço Social, capaz não só de colocar óbices a materialização do projeto ético-político, mas também o de forjar um perfil profissional colidente com o requisitado pela direção social estratégica que a vanguarda do Serviço Social forjou desde a crise da autocracia burguesa.
