Digital culture, child youtubers and the production of media content for the child public

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the production of audiovisual content published on the YouTube platform aimed at children, having as selection criteria videos produced by child YouTubers. Through an exploratory research, five channels of child YouTubers were analyzed, chosen from previously established criteria, such as number of subscribers and total views of the most popular videos. We selected channels with expressiveness within YouTube platform for children, and from each channel we analyzed the content of the most popular video, seeking to know and describe what is being consumed by children.
