Case analysis on LGBTI+ representations in superhero comics: on the representation of Superman in the DC Pride 2022 special edition

This article aims to carry out a case analysis of a certain LGBTI+ representation, we will approach the commemorative material DC Pride 2022 and its representation of Superman, one of the central products of the DC Comics. Our approach is qualitative, in which we will make a reading of such material, starting from the history of American comics and how they represented LGBTI+ groups. In terms of contribution, we selected authors such as Dandara Cruz, Darieck Scott, Ramzi Fawaz, Rob Lendrum, Neil Shyminsky, among other names. Our conclusion involves seeing how even with historical advances and changes, the quality of certain materials can still be questioned, in terms of LGBTI+ representation models.
