Exploring scientific production on forced migration in conflict contexts: a bibliometric and network analysis-oriented approach
DOI:
https://doi.org/10.47456/zer19t30Abstract
The consistent increase in the number of refugees and forcibly displaced migrants in recent years has led to a significant humanitarian toll, making it one of the foremost challenges huma- nity currently faces. This article aims to identify current trends in scientific research regarding forced migrations and displacements in contexts of wars and conflicts through a bibliometric and syste- matic literature review. Key findings from the bibliometric analysis underscore a growing interest from European countries in produ- cing scholarly work on this subject, highlighting the challenges of this form of displacement for the region. The literature review em- phasizes the importance of adopting an interdisciplinary approach to understand the political implications and factors surrounding forced migrations and displacements. This approach takes into account individual, familial, communal, and structural aspects of the adaptation process for these individuals in destination regions. Given this landscape, it is imperative to develop effective policies and programs to support successful integration and ensure basic rights for migrant and refugee populations, while also mitigating the adverse impacts on host communities.
