Laicidade na escola pública: reflexões sobre o religioso na educação municipal de vitória (es)

Resumo

Os temas relacionados à diversidade sexual, gênero e raça, especialmente no trato das religiões de matriz africana, tem provocado embates no ambiente escolar em Vitória e no contexto nacional brasileiro. O tema da laicidade veio à tona devido à suposta “ameaça à família natural” defendida por grupos religiosos cristãos. A elaboração e aprovação do Plano Nacional de Educação e do Plano Municipal de Educação de Vitória jogaram luz à questão. Esta pesquisa debruça-se sobre conflito relacionado à igualdade racial ocorrido em escola da rede pública de Vitória, que obteve repercussão na imprensa capixaba em 2017. Apresenta os modos como foi tratado pela política educacional do município e sugere alternativas de enfrentamento às violações dos direitos humanos no contexto escolar na realidade local. The themes related to sexual diversity, gender and race, especially in the treatment of religions of African matrix, have provoked conflicts in the school environment in Vitória and in the Brazilian national context. The theme of secularism has come to light because of the alleged "threat to the natural family" advocated by Christian religious groups. The elaboration and approval of the National Plan of Education and the Municipal Plan of Education of Vitória shed light on the issue. This research focuses on some conflicts related to the racial equality, occurred in Vitoria’s public schools, that obtained repercussion in the press of Espírito Santo in 2017. It presents the ways in which the educational policy of the municipality was treated and suggests alternatives to address human rights violations in the school context in the local reality.
