Relação entre teoria e prática sobre a participação comunitária em intervenções humanitárias no campo da habitação

Pessoas de diversas partes do mundo continuam vivendo em condições precárias em relação à habitação e a questão se torna ainda mais urgente em função das mudanças climáticas, cujos impactos recaem de maneira mais intensa sobre estas pessoas. A sociedade civil vem se mobilizando pela causa, mas é preciso garantir que as intervenções que são realizadas atinjam resultados tão positivos quanto as intenções daqueles que as promovem. Um dos fatores decisivos nesta questão, apontado pela teoria, tanto do campo da habitação pós-desastre como da reabilitação de assentamentos informais, é a participação dos beneficiários no processo. Neste contexto, este artigo objetiva verificar como teoria e prática se relacionam a respeito da participação comunitária em intervenções que visam melhorias para aqueles que encontram-se em situação precária em relação à habitação e qual o papel dos membros da sociedade civil que se propõem a contribuir em tais intervenções. Através da revisão de literatura realizada e do acesso a relatos provenientes das experiências de membros e beneficiários de instituições que atuam no Brasil foi possível compreender que o conceito da participação comunitária é amplo, consistindo em incentivar que os cidadãos assumam posição decisiva não somente sobre como desejam que suas casas sejam construídas, reconstruídas ou reabilitadas, mas também sobre muitos outros aspectos de suas vidas.Referencias
