This article examines the relationship between changes in water withdrawals and food security in Ouesso. The objective is to demonstrate the impacts of rainfall patterns on agricultural production and their effect on food security in Ouesso. The methodology focused on data collection, and a field survey was conducted. The PEIR method was used for data processing. Data analysis allowed for the characterization of rainfall patterns between 1951 and 2023 and the identification of rainfall trends. The results show a decrease in rainfall of approximately 30%, as well as in crop production. The number of days without rain varies from one season to another. Consequently, the food security situation of households is vulnerable, potentially leading to food insecurity and deteriorating living conditions. Effective responses are needed to mitigate the consequences on the lives of the population.
