Variação Morfológica do Cordão Litorâneo Associado a Foz do Rio Jucu

O objeto de estudo desta pesquisa, o cordão litorâneo associado à foz do Rio Jucu, situa-se no município de Vila Velha - ES. O objetivo principal foi verificar a variação morfológica do cordão, no tempo e no espaço, e a contribuição do aporte de sedimentos fluviais para a sua formação. Sua realização contou com a análise de fotos aéreas históricas do local; análise das séries temporais históricas da vazão; coleta de sedimentos e sua análise. Os resultados indicaram forte tendência de redução na largura do cordão nas últimas décadas e que ambiente recebe grande influência das ondas e correntes costeiras, exercendo a ação fluvial papel secundário na constituição e variação morfológica do cordão litorâneo.
Morphological Changes of a Sand barrier associated to Jucu river mouth (ES)
Abstract
The object of this study is the sand barrier associated to the mouth of Rio Jucu, located in Vila Velha - ES. The main objective was to assess the morphological variation of the barrier, in time and space, and the contribution of fluvial sediment supply to its dynamics. The study was carried out using the analysis of historical aerial photos, river discharge time series andsediment sampling. The results showed a strong tendency towards a reduction in the width of the barrier during the last decades and that the barrier dynamics is strongly influenced by waves and coastal currents. River discharge plays a secondary role in the formation and morphological variation of the barrier.
