Campesinato e Agricultura Familiar: divergências e convergências para o reconhecimento e fortalecimento da agricultura de base familiar

Resumo

O artigo tem por objetivo contextualizar e debater o processo de formação do conceito de campesinato e sua “transição” para agricultura familiar. As divergências e convergências no debate teórico metodológico e suas implicações para o avanço de consensos em torno da problemática para conceituar e definir o que vem a ser as populações rurais que se organizam em propriedades familiares. Espaço este que não será lugar exclusivo para o mundo trabalho, mas compartilha trabalho e espaço de vida. Como denominá-los? Quais as implicações dessa denominação? Estas são questões que sempre estão na linha do horizonte para quem mergulha no debate sobre o mundo rural e que são fundamentais para pensar o processo de quem são, onde estão, como vivem, o que produzem, quais as condições para sua reprodução social e como se relacionam com as sociedades envolventes. Portanto, este artigo apresenta e problematiza o debate, que não se esgota, sobre até onde é ou não campesinato, agricultura familiar, agricultura familiar camponesa, agricultura familiar moderna, enfim, e quais os pressupostos que fundamentam tais construções conceituais. 

Peasantry and Family Farming: divergences and convergences for recognizing and strengthening family-based farming

ABSTRACT

The article aims to contextualize and debate the process of formation of the concept of peasantry and its "transition" to family farming. The divergences and convergences in the methodological theoretical debate and their implications for the advancement of consensus around the problem to conceptualize and define what rural populations are organized into family properties. This space will not be an exclusive place for the working world, but it shares work and living space. How to name them? What are the implications of this denomination? These are questions that are always on the horizon for those who are immersed in the debate about the rural world and which are fundamental for thinking about the process of who they are, where they live, what they produce, what the conditions are for their social reproduction and how they live. relate to the surrounding societies. Therefore, this article presents and problematizes the debate, which does not end, as to how far it is or not peasantry, family farming, peasant family farming, modern family farming, in short, and what are the assumptions that underlie such conceptual constructions.
