This article discusses the contributions of university extension in graduate studies, based on a Collective Continuing Education programme carried out with education workers in different roles, focused on the school inclusion of students with disabilities, in the Central Serrana microregion of Espírito Santo. It problematizes the simultaneous movement of being a trainer and undergoing training in the development of extension work. The activity is part of a broader project, unprecedented in the state, comprising in-person and distance meetings, which involved approximately one thousand workers between 2024 and 2026, supported by the Extension Programme in Graduate Studies of the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Proext-PG/UFES), the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and the Espírito Santo Research and Innovation Support Foundation (FAPES). Two distance training sessions are discussed from a theoretical and empirical perspective, addressing "Caring for those who care" and "Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC): practice at school", showing how care, communication and the sharing of knowledge strengthen inclusive practices in everyday school life, and understanding education as a continuous, dialogical and collective process. It concludes that extension in graduate studies promotes social transformation, reframes pedagogical practices and contributes to consolidating an inclusive, ethical and emancipatory school culture and to the education of graduate students.
