O trabalho trata-se de uma proposta de atividade investigativa sobre o tema Código Genético para as aulas de Biologia do ensino médio, tendo como objetivo diferenciar os tipos de ácidos nucleicos assim como compreender sua função e composição, reconhecendo que moléculas de proteínas são formadas a partir da informação contida no material genético. Os estudantes, ao serem estimulados a participar ativamente da construção do conhecimento, foram instigados a pensar, criar, elaborar dados e por fim associá-los a vida cotidiana, dando ênfase na importância do material genético para as funções celulares.
