Introduction: Arbovirus infections are a public health issue due to the transmission and control features of vectors such as Aedes aegypti. One of the main actions taken to control this issue lies on eliminating the mosquito through the active search for breeding sites. Objectives: Analyzing building infestation by Aedes aegypti in 2019, based on property type and breeding sites in Guriri beach resort, São Mateus County, Espírito Santo State. Methods: Cross-sectional study carried out in São Mateus County, based on data provided by the Yellow Fever and Dengue Information System Program. Pearson’s chi-square test (x²), building infestation rate and Odds Ratio (OR) were performed at 95% confidence interval (CI95%). Results: Residential properties were more likely to show foci of Aedes aegypti than other property types (OR= 2.67 - CI95% 2.20; 3.25). D1 deposits were more likely to have positive foci of Aedes aegypti in comparison to other deposit types (OR= 19.25 CI95% - 15.47; 23.80). Conclusion: Aedes aegypti foci should remain under constant surveillance, mainly in residential properties. Health education can be an essential tool to guide the community towards reducing the frequency of foci.
