Nós Que Aqui Estamos Por Vós Esperamos: a “post-mortem democracy”

This essay aims to analyze the documentary of Marcelo Masagão titled Nós Que Aqui Estamos Por Vós Esperamos, and discuss the filmmaker's analytical options, the "scientific" paradigms adopted and the genre. The next step was to define the object analyzed by the film, the documentary’s guiding thread. Once this is done, it will be approached by this work the main elements of assembly, such as intertitles, soundtrack, image/reality relation, among others. Next, I will discuss the development of the thematic blocks of the documentary and the meanings within them. The conclusion aims to tie the argumentation of the filmmaker within the point considered the core of the discussion. Finally, I propose a discussion of what I have defined as the myth of post-mortem democracy.
