A esquize do olho e do olhar na arte: Lacan leitor de Merleau-Ponty

Trata-se neste artigo mostrar como Lacan encontrou, nas formulações de Merleau-Ponty, uma alternativa para resolver um problema ético, advindo da escuta clínica, e que tinha que ver com a acolhida ao real introduzido pelo olhar estrangeiro. Lacan perguntava-se, no início dos anos 1960, como aproximar-se do olhar estrangeiro, o qual se impõe como um real exigindo nossa passividade, sem que isso implique uma renúncia aos nossos vínculos simbólico-imaginários? Como se pode ir ao encontro da pulsão, agora em sua versão escópica, sem com isso destruir nossas imagens e leis?
