Religião e Estado: um diálogo entre as filosofias de al-Farabi e Marsílio de Pádua

O presente artigo desenvolve uma análise acerca do pensamento político de Abū Nasr al-Fārābī (872 – 950) e Marsílio de Pádua (1275/80 – 1342/43) tendo como foco a relação entre a Religião e o Estado. Objetivamos, a partir das teorias políticas destes autores, expor seus conceitos centrais no que respeita o vínculo entre o poder temporal e religião para, então, realizar um diálogo entre as concepções filosóficas. Assim, ressalta-se o modo como filósofos discutem a formação das leis no interior de uma comunidade partindo de um pressuposto comum: a afirmação aristotélica de que o homem é um ser social por natureza. Na evidente necessidade de uma vida em sociedade, é examinado o papel que al-al-Fārābī e Marsílio atribuem à religião na formação de um organismo político. Neste momento, é fundamental a consideração do contexto no qual suas reflexões filosóficas são desenvolvidas. Como fonte, tem-se como base uma pesquisa bibliográfica cujas obras Política do filósofo árabe e O defensor da paz do autor paduano ocupam lugar de destaque.
