A AUTOCRÍTICA ENQUANTO MÉTODO DE INVESTIGAÇÃO NO PARMÊNIDES DE PLATÃO

A partir do Parmênides, diálogo de transição entre o fim da maturidade e o período tardio, Platão passa a investigar a relação entre sensível e inteligível não apenas como algo dado, mas com o objetivo de aprofundar e entender em detalhes como se dá a própria relação, isto é, este relacionar-se das Formas consigo mesmas e com seus derivados. Como chave hermenêutica para desvelar este problema, daremos um enfoque maior ao conceito de participação (methexis) e ao ‘argumento do terceiro homem’ (tritos anthropos) desenvolvidos no decorrer do Parmênides. Neste sentido, a autocrítica realizada por Platão em direção às Formas constitui-se como método inusitado para testagem de hipóteses acerca de sua clássica teoria, permitindo-nos observar se há neste diálogo uma reafirmação ontológica das Formas em sua versão standard ou se ocorre uma drástica ruptura com as obras que antecedem Parmênides. Por fim, visamos aqui a salientar a importância de uma interpretação histórica e sistemática das obras platônicas, assumindo uma via intermediária na qual o Parmênides se nos apresenta como uma complementação teórica acerca da ontologia e da epistemologia, ainda que reconheçamos o fato de não haver nenhuma menção direta às noções presentes nos diálogos precedentes e boa parte do tema se desenvolva sob estilo de escrita e vocabulário inusitados.
