This article aims to investigate the influence of environmental factors on human nature and health, according to the view of Hippocratic medicine, as they are intrinsically linked. Insofar as, according to the most accepted thesis of Hippocratic medicine, human nature is composed of four humors, whose balance will provide the individual's health, everything that influences these humors will, at the same time, influence so much the nature of man, how much your health. Thus, it is essential for medicine to identify and understand the environmental conditions that can not only influence, but determine the disease, as well as the nature of the individual. For this investigation, we dealt, in particular, with the analysis of the book Airs, Waters and Places, in which it is possible to explicitly verify a description of these environmental factors, as well as other texts, such as The Sacred Disease, The Nature of Man, On Diet – Book I, Diseases IV and Aphorisms.
