Neoliberal logic and fascism as a device

In this paper, we intend to analyze how fascism presents itself as an intrinsic device of contemporary democracies in the neoliberal context. To this end, it is identified that the State has become a necessary instrument of capital in maintaining social order and control and safeguarding the dynamics of capital accumulation. From this perspective, it is understood that the crisis is inherent to the logic of capital, constituting the functioning mechanism of capitalism and assuming a functional and useful character for generating profits. In this way, to resolve the “crises”, capitalism uses austerity policies as a subterfuge to expand the circulation of capital, thus paving the way for fascism, as it seeks to protect the logic of capital from transformations social issues that may arise. Which means that, in the neoliberal situation, fascism does not present itself exactly as a State, but as an intrinsic device of contemporary democracies, as a logic of power that reverberates beyond fascist societies.
