O problema dos intelectuais no mundo contemporâneo sob duas perspectivas: organizadores da cultura ou expressão das contradições sociais

Este artigo procura apresentar a formação e o papel atribuídos à figura do intelectual por dois filósofos do século XX: Gramsci e Sartre. Gramsci concebe os intelectuais como organizadores da cultura (tarefa educativa e organizativa). Pelo conceito de intelectual orgânico afirma que os intelectuais estão sempre ligados a uma classe. A ideologia burguesa foi formada e difundida pelos intelectuais burgueses, mas é possível a formação de intelectuais orgânicos do proletariado que se formariam dentro dos partidos políticos e permitiria um projeto político revolucionário. Sartre considera impossível a formação de intelectuais orgânicos do proletariado, mas também atribui aos intelectuais uma tarefa ligada à revolução proletária, porque apesar de eles pertencerem à classe dominante, sua função original de especialistas do saber prático entra em contradição com os próprios pressupostos críticos dessa tarefa e lhes permite a compreensão das contradições sociais das sociedades contemporâneas.
