Notas sobre a disposição de caráter na Ética a Nicômaco de Aristóteles

A principal proposta deste artigo é compreender se seria possível para o ser humano ter controle racional sobre sua disposição de caráter (hexis) conforme a investigação ética de Aristóteles. É bem conhecida a questão referente à capacidade humana para interferir junto às ações moralmente avaliáveis. A partir dessa proposta, restaria compreender se o agente teria papel ativo na formação da sua disposição, que seria o ponto que apoiaria o comportamento humano de maneira ampla. É necessário também questionar o papel da educação dos seres humanos, pois todos passam por uma importante etapa em que eles dependem das orientações de alguém já moralmente preparado, o que poderá ser determinante ao longo da vida humana adulta. O argumento aristotélico sobre a disposição exige que se levante o tema da alma, um importante aspecto para a formação moral do agente da maneira mais fundamental. Toda possível mudança de disposição exige uma alteração dessa dimensão profunda do ser humano.
