Direito entre Autonomia e Autorrealização

Depois de apresentar a crítica de Ch. Menke a Honneth no que diz respeito a uma presumida insuficiente consideração do conceito de autorrealização no quadro jurídico da sociedade moderna, passa-se à resposta de Honneth na sua obra mais madura O Direito da Liberdade, na qual ele explicita e desenvolve a relação entre os conceitos de autodeterminação e autorrealização. Em foco, a discussão sobre se a idiotia e a recusa de socialização quanto a decisões pessoais sobre quem se quer ser seria uma possibilidade constitutiva do conceito de autorrealização ou uma possível manifestação que deve ser, entretanto, considerada patológica. A revisitação de textos anteriores de Honneth para conferir o uso e a relevância de ambos os conceitos enseja uma consideração avaliativa das posições de Menke, em confronto também com outros autores.
