The political-media discourse in Palmas: an analysis of the declarations of the periodical Opção Tocantins from the new mayor of Palmas, TO

Abstract

This article aims to investigate the knowledge-power relationships that exist in the article "Entre las calles y los despachos: el contrast entre Eduardo Siqueira Campos y Cinthia Ribeiro" (Milhomem, 2025), published on the virtual portal Jornal Opção. To achieve the proposal brought to this study, the instrumental framework of the Arqueogenalogical Analysis of Discourse was used, through the use of its operational concepts, units of discourse, objectification and governance, which are applied in the process of investigating the dynamics of knowledge -power present in the object of analysis of this study. As a result, it was possible to identify the populist and bureaucratic discursive units and, in addition, to achieve the objective, the participation of the government was confirmed, not by a government body, but by a communication agency.
