Abstract

The article aimed to perform an analysis of the performance of the collective candidacies of women in comparison to the candidates launched by the same political parties in the three capitals of the Southern Region of Brazil in the 2020 election. by PT, PCdoB and PSOL, which were the parties that launched the collective candidacies in these capitals in the 2020 municipal election, as well as the financial resources available for the campaign of these political actors and the political and partisan trajectory of the councilors elected in these parties. We saw that women's collective candidacies can be seen as an attempt to occupy spaces of power, increasing women's representation in institutional politics, strengthening collective candidacies through the union of co-candidates who come from different places, movements and collectives.
