Elements for a latin american critique of P. Rosanvallon's concept of populism

Abstract

We propose a Latin American Critique of the Concept of «populism» defended by Pierre Ronsanvallon, introductory elements for an open debate. For this purpose, We will use the elaborations of E. Dussel Under the «popular question» formulated in different Works where he proposes a Political Philosophy of Liberation. And then, with the aim of countering Rosavallon’s thinking on populism, a brief Historical and Social Analysis of the Political Process of the Bolivarian Revolution will be brought (1999) and the rise of Popular Power and Participatory and Protagonic Democracy in Venezuela as a result of such a process.
