Diversificación energética, descarbonización y reducción de costos en la industria brasileña: estimaciones de escenarios posibles

Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar cómo los cambios en la participación relativa de las fuentes energéticas que componen el balance energético de la industria brasileña pueden afectar los gastos totales en la compra de electricidad y el consumo de combustibles de este importante segmento económico. A partir de datos recopilados de la Empresa de Investigación Energética (EPE) y del Instituto Brasileño de Geografía y Estadística (IBGE), se realizaron simulaciones y análisis mediante técnicas de aprendizaje automático basadas en redes neuronales artificiales de tipo perceptrón multicapa (MLP-ANN), apoyadas por el método de remuestreo aleatorio con reemplazo (bootstrap). Los resultados permitieron evaluar 12 escenarios de diversificación del mix energético industrial, desarrollados a partir de modelos con 16 observaciones históricas (2007-2022) y remuestreo bootstrap de hasta 1.000 observaciones simuladas, identificando alternativas capaces de reducir los costos energéticos en un contexto en el que dichos gastos presentaron un aumento acumulado del 379% durante el período analizado.
