Modelos de predicción de impactos ambientales con inteligencia artificial: una revisión bibliométrica

Este estudio examina la evolución de la producción científica internacional sobre modelos de predicción del impacto ambiental basados en algoritmos de IA, con énfasis en las técnicas de Machine Learning-ML aplicadas al contexto del cambio climático. El objetivo fue mapear tendencias, identificar brechas y evaluar la consolidación de este campo, considerando su potencial para integrarse con métricas de sostenibilidad. La investigación utilizó métodos bibliométricos basados en 631 artículos indexados en la WoS entre 1945-2023, analizados con el software Bibliometrix en R. Los resultados indican un crecimiento exponencial de las publicaciones desde 2016, acompañado por el predominio de China, EE. UU. e India tanto en volumen como en influencia científica. La aplicación de las leyes de Bradford y Lotka reveló una concentración de la producción en pocas revistas y una alta fragmentación autoral. El análisis temático mostró que el ML, el cambio climático y los modelos de predicción son los temas impulsores del campo, aunque todavía centrados en variables ambientales aisladas. Se constató la ausencia de modelos integrados que articulen pronósticos ambientales, impactos socioeconómicos y dimensiones de gobernanza, así como la falta de conexiones sistemáticas entre técnicas de IA e indicadores ESG. Se concluye que esta integración constituye una frontera prometedora para investigaciones futuras y para la formulación de estrategias de sostenibilidad.
