Author Biography

Yves Lacoste, Institut Français de Géopolitique - Paris 8

Professor na Universidade de Paris-VIII (Universidade de Vincennes), onde criou a revista Hérodote (publicada por François Maspero). Em 1976 publicou A geografia serve antes de mais nada para fazer a guerra.  Em 1989, fundou o Centro de Pesquisa e Análise Geopolítica que se tornou o Instituto Francês de Geopolítica sob a direção de Béatrice Giblin. Em Paris dirige a formação doutoral no CRAG (Centro de Pesquisa e Análise Geopolítica), instituto que também fundou, agora dirigido por Philippe Subra. Aspectos sobre sua biografia podem ser encontrados em Cláudio Zanotelli. Yves Lacoste: entrevistas. São Paulo: Annablume, 2005 e, mais recentemente, na série de entrevistas a Pascal Lorot, publicadas como La géopolitique et le géographe (2010), e nas memórias de Yves Lacoste: Aventures d’un Géographe (2018).
