The elaborated book review refers to the publication “Landscape and Memory” written by the British historian Simon Schama. The book expands the dialogue among Geography, History and Art; and it contributes to the discussions concerning the social and political memories that are projected upon landscapes. The author expresses the appropriation of landscapes (“forest”, “water” and “rock”) in various historical examples, especially, those which relates to the construction of nationalities as the Lithuanian, German, English, Italian and North-American.
