Abstract

The history of malaria shows us that it is as ancient as it is complex, having spread across continents since our ancestors. In the current scenario, as it primarily affects poor countries, it is also a neglected disease. The achievements made in combating malaria can be compromised if surveillance and control actions are not strengthened. Thus, this editorial highlights the importance of understanding it even today.
