Thematic Dossier: Musical Analysis and the Audiotactile Paradigm: Theory, Methods and Applications
The ReMA – Audiotactile Musicology Journal invites scholars to submit articles for the thematic dossier “Musical Analysis and the Audiotactile Paradigm: Theory, Methods and Applications”.
This dossier aims to foster reflection on the theoretical and methodological challenges that the Theory of Audiotactile Musics poses to the field of musical analysis. Rather than merely applying analytical models derived from the literate regime to phonographic or improvised repertoires, the objective is to investigate the extent to which the formative, cognitive, and representational processes specific to audiotactile musics require new conceptual and methodological tools.
The central question guiding this dossier is:
What forms can musical analysis take in light of the audiotactile paradigm, and which theoretical and methodological tools need to be developed, adapted, or reconsidered in order to understand the cognitive processes, formative mechanisms, and mental representations characteristic of this musical regime?
