Caminhos e perspectivas do associativismo das pessoas com deficiência no Distrito Federal

O presente artigo apresenta a trajetória de associativismo das pessoas com deficiência e a sua mobilização na garantia de direitos e reconhecimento no Distrito Federal. Para tanto foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa por meio de entrevistas com lideranças de 26 associações e entidades de pessoas com deficiência. Os resultados apontam para a protagonismo das pessoas com deficiência na luta política por cidadania e a busca por se romper com o histórico de segregação, estigma e tutela. Também se problematiza a complexidade de um movimento que engloba distintas demandas e as perspectivas em torno de sua unidade na diversidade.
