The place of politics in the crisis of democracy

O artigo tem três grandes objetos: (a) a crítica às intepretações mais correntes sobre a crise da democracia contemporânea (b) uma reflexão sobre as relações entre capitalismo e democracia, construída a partir de direto diálogo com Wendy Brown, Nancy Fraser e Wolfgang Streeck, (c) um debate sobre as melhores formulações conceituais para compreender os ataques de grupos sociais e líderes globais à democracia. Meus comentários também se organizam a partir desses três campos. Além de um constante diálogo com os argumentos do texto, marcado pela tentativa de desenvolver futuros debates e por divergências pontuais, faço duas críticas mais amplas aos argumentos de Miguel: os problemas do conceito de “antipolítica” e a pouca presença dos eventos políticos brasileiros nas formulações teóricas do texto.
