Abstract

This article analyzes the construction process of the Psychosocial Care Network (Raps), in Duque de Caxias (RJ), recognizing the conflicts and correlations of forces. Qualitative research was employed, through a case study, built on bibliographic and field investigations. To achieve this, a non-probabilistic snowball sample was used, selecting five subjects who were protagonists of the Raps construction process, in Caxias. There are conflicts expressed in the persistence of an asylum and hospital-centric culture throughout the construction of Raps, initially resulting in the attempt to isolate psychiatric patients within new mental health services.
