About the Journal

The Farol Journal is a biannual publication of the Graduate Program in Arts at the Federal University of Espírito Santo. As an academic initiative, connected to the field of Arts / Visual Arts, the journal is open to texts that aim to discuss the problem of formation and artistic, critical and historiographic assigned for the visual arts. It also strives to provide research experiences, which are open to the fields of knowledge, between consensus and dissent, in a contemporary context.

Farol Magazine, already established as a space for the circulation of research, reflections, and experiences in the field of arts, welcomes the diversity of perspectives that constitute contemporary artistic production and thought. Continuing the partnership established with the Ibero-American Seminar on the Creative Process in Arts – Poetics of Creation, which began more than a decade ago. Held as an artistic-cultural residency in the city of Vila Velha (ES) in October 2025, the event fostered these exchanges.
