Abstract

The article describes the simultaneous genesis of itself and the photographs that are its object. Emerging as an integrated poetic exercise, photos and text were mutually formed, through aggregations and revisions. The text discusses the photographs and itself in the manner of a phenomenological approach, with mention of the possibility of a political dimension of the image without the explicit representation of political themes.

Author Biography

Lincoln Dias, DAV-UFES

É artista visual, professor adjunto do Departamento de Artes Visuais da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo. Possui graduação em Artes Plásticas pela Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (1988), mestrado e doutorado em Comunicação e Semiótica pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (1997; 2005). Como artista, trabalha com pintura a óleo, acrílica e vinílica. Como pesquisador, tem como referencial teórico a semiótica discursiva e como objeto geral de estudo as artes visuais, especificamente a pintura e suas relações com a contemporaneidade.
