Comparando semipresidencialismos
semelhanças e diferenças entre casos Pós-Terceira Onda de Democratização

O propósito central deste artigo é compreender que padrões políticos e institucionais emergem dos países que adotaram o semipresidencialismo após a terceira onda de democratização. No desenho transversal, utilizando o país como unidade de análise, identificamos 47 casos que foram analisados descritivamente com base em características políticas e institucionais, como o grau de democratização, o subtipo de semipresidencialismo, a associação prévia a um país semipresidencialista e a família de sistema eleitoral para a câmara baixa. Entre os achados mais relevantes está que semipresidencialismos pós-terceira onda tendem a ser democracias, ter arranjos premier-presidencialistas, sistemas eleitorais proporcionais e vínculo anterior a países que possuíam o sistema semipresidencial.
