Resumen

Este artículo aborda el festival Burning Man, fundado en 1986 y celebrado anualmente en el desierto de Black Rock (EE.UU.), como un laboratorio social y tecnológico al aire libre, del que se derivan orientaciones ideológicas y técnicas de lo más relevantes para el mundo corporativo y cibernético contemporáneo. Parte de una amplia descripción de la génesis histórica del festival y sus principios rectores para entender la incorporación de Burning Man por parte de los gestores del Valle del Silicio, con énfasis en la influencia que el festival ejerce sobre Google y sus particulares formas de organización del trabajo y la tecnología cibernética. A partir de esta relación específica, llegamos a entender el Burning Man como una "infraestructura cultural" a gran escala, correlativa a los mandatos contemporáneos que invaden el mundo del trabajo y las redes.
