Representações sociais de Brasil e Europa para brasileiros migrantes na Europa

A Europa tornou-se atrativa para brasileiros que buscam a emigração desde a década de 1980. Este território recebeu grande contingente de imigrantes, principalmente, em função de sua imagem de progresso econômico/social. Contudo, os imigrantes, vistos como categoria minoritária, passaram a ser um ônus para a sociedade europeia. Utilizando-se do aporte teórico da Teoria das Representações Sociais, o presente estudo objetivou conhecer as representações sociais de Brasil e Europa para 180 brasileiros residentes em seis territórios europeus. Foi utilizado um questionário semiestruturado com perguntas formuladas conforme técnica de associação livre. Os resultados mostraram que as representações sociais dos brasileiros a respeito do Brasil e da Europa, com a positivação do território europeu em detrimento do brasileiro, correspondem à função de justificar e orientar o propósito da migração.
