Políticas sociais e crise capitalista: desafios para o serviço social

A professora Maria Carmelita Yazbek em seu texto “O desafio da defesa das políticas públicas e o enfrentamento da pobreza no cenário contemporâneo: o significado da profissão em tempos de mudanças” nos convida a pensar de que maneira as (os) profissionais de serviço social no cenário de crise estrutural do capitalismo e suas graves conseqüências para os trabalhadores, podem manter seu compromisso com os anseios por igualdade, justiça e democracia preconizados em nosso projeto profissional. O diálogo com a autora destacará as perspectivas das políticas públicas no atual contexto das sociedades capitalistas em todo o mundo e no Brasil, para em seguida abordar os desafios que tais perspectivas comportam para a profissão, de forma a colocar em relevo o que acredito que requer um pouco mais de atenção: as disputas políticas no espaço das políticas sociais públicas por concepções de sociedade e Estado, também atravessam a categoria e se expressam no fazer profissional.
