Este livro é uma coletânea temática, resultado do Projeto: Política Educacional e Pobreza, coordenado pela Professora Doutora Silvia Cristina Yannoulas, da Universidade de Brasília. O objetivo da obra é possibilitar a compreensão das questões econômicas, políticas, culturais, sociais e educacionais que envolvem a educação formal. O intuito é contribuir para a desconstrução de preconceitos ou reducionismos, convertendo o foco para questões estruturais e conjunturais que incidem sobre a educação formal brasileira no contexto atual do capital “fetiche”. Os resultados do projeto foram sintetizados em dez capítulos, divididos em três partes. A primeira refere-se aos saberes sobre a Relação Política Educacional e Pobreza – aqui identificada pela sigla REP. Logo em seguida, discutem-se os recursos para esta relação. E a terceira parte faz a articulação entre o mundo escolar, as professoras e a pobreza. Trata-se de uma obra imprescindível aos estudiosos da Política de educação e pobreza - que atravessa e desafia o universo educacional.
