The right of indigenous people to education in the face of the reality in South Mato-Grosso

Conquistas indígenas avançam ao direito à educação específica, o que motivou este estudo em analisar este avanço na região sul-mato-grossense. Para tanto, tomou-se por base a legislação nacional referente à educação indígena pós-Constituição Federal de 1988; o aporte teórico foi a partir de AGUILERA URQUIZA (2013; 2017) e BENITES (2009; 2014). O estudo se desenvolveu, portanto, por meio de pesquisa bibliográfico-documental à luz do relatório da Declaração das Nações Unidas, redigido por James Anaya (2009) e de resultados de pesquisas na temática. Constatou-se, dessa análise, o amparo legal à educação indígena em que assegura os costumes dos povos tradicionais e, a despeito dessa evidência, entretanto, nota-se a prevalente carência de recursos públicos, o que gera uma organização escolar precária e proveniente da sociedade não indígena.
