Serviço Social e Programa de cirurgia bariátrica: sistematizações iniciais

Trata-se de ensaio produzido a partir da experiência no estágio curricular realizado em 2011, em um Programa de Cirurgia Bariátrica em Alagoas, no intuito de sistematizar essa experiência e os estudos iniciais sobre o tema. O percurso metodológico envolveu a revisão bibliográfica e documental para iniciar uma breve caracterização do processo de intervenção dos assistentes sociais com os familiares dos usuários do Programa. Buscou-se organizar os estudos sobre o Serviço Social, o trabalho com famílias e as particularidades existentes no processo de tratamento da obesidade mórbida. Partiu-se da premissa de que o Serviço Social, historicamente, contempla a família como sujeito de referência na proteção social dos seus membros, e pelo fato de entender que, através das reuniões de acompanhamento, é possível estabelecer processos de acolhimento, referência e contrarreferência entre serviços.
