Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The main author of the work has a doctorate degree.
  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor".
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.
  • The text is spaced 1.5; uses a 12-point font; employs italics instead of underlining (except in URL addresses); Figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of attachments.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Diretrizes para Autores, on the About the Journal page.
  • URLs for references were provided when possible.

Author Guidelines

Dear author,

We ask that you carefully read all points in the guidelines before beginning to complete your five submission steps. Failure to comply with any of the items below, present in the submitted document and/or in the submission form will result in the material being rejected.

Proposals for articles originally composed in the following languages ​​will be accepted: (i) Portuguese, (ii) Spanish, (iii) French and (iv) English. Revista Farol may publish both the original and the translation into Portuguese.

Proposals submitted for the next issue of the journal, which are not immediately accepted for publication, may remain archived for possible future publications, if the authors agree.

When completing the registration, it is mandatory to include the ORCID ID in the field indicated as URL on the form.

For the evaluation process, the authors of the submitted works cannot be identified in the body of the text, in compliance with the adopted blind evaluation requirement. Notes and citations that may refer to the identity of the authors must be excluded from the text.

The article must be written in Times New Roman, 12 and must contain: Title in bold, centralized font; Title in English in the same format;abstract in up to 10 lines, justified and single-spaced followed by up to 5 keywords;abstract, in the same format as the summary, in italics, followed by up to 5 keywords, in italics; justified text, between lines of 1.5 and paragraph in 0 pt;

Page or section breaks must not be inserted;

Footnotes must be in font 9, single spaced, aligned to the left and numbered with Arabic characters;

Figures must be arranged in the body of the text, in jpg format, at 300 dpi, with a shorter side of up to 10cm; they must be accompanied by a technical specification (title, author, year and source) and be numbered (figure 01, figure 02…);

Images must be attached as complementary documents;

The page must have margins of 2cm lower and right and 3cm upper and left;

References must follow the most recent ABNT standard;

The article must be between 10 and 15 pages from title to last reference;

Important: Do not use capital letters for titles or subtitles. This characteristic will only be accepted in cases where the titles of works (works, books, projects, etc.) cited are originally capitalized.

If the submission forms are completed in capital letters, the proposal will be rejected.
