Abstract

This text takes the work Hominidae (2009), by Ricardo Alvarenga, to reflect on his contribution, in the relations established between art and the city, and in the Urban Mobile Art project of the Secretary of Culture of the city of Uberlândia MG. The initiative broke with traditional exhibition spaces and encouraged artists to use the city as a material and setting for their creations. The article is the result of research that observed the reverberations of this project as a process of expansion of the field of art in the city, encouraging and promoting contemporary artistic productions in urban spaces, which contributed to the construction of debates on the way of experiencing the city.

Author Biographies

Yara Paula Martins, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

Master in Architecture and Urbanism from the Postgraduate Program in Architecture and Urbanism (PPGAU) at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) in the research line Art, architecture and city and postgraduate degree from IPOG in Interior Design. Architect and Urban Planner from the Centro Universitário de Patos de Minas (2014-2018) with research in the area of production of urban space through experiments and sensory experiences. She was vice-president of the Academic Directory of the Architecture and Urbanism Course in the 2015/2016 administration, participating in the organization of academic events such as Architecture Week and Observatory. He participated in an internship in the area of bioconstruction in Vila Caipora, in Uberlândia and an internship at the company Rogério Pina with a focus on architectural design, from its conception to technical and three-dimensional drawings. He has experience in the area of Architecture and Urbanism, with an emphasis on design of architecture and urban art.

Luis Eduardo dos Santos Borda, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

Possui graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade Federal de Pelotas (1984), Mestrado em História Social da Cultura pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro PUC RJ (1994), Doutorado em Artes pela Universidade de São Paulo (2003) e também Pós-Doutorado em Arquitetura e Urbanismo pela Universidade de São Paulo (2014). Atualmente é professor Titular da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia e professor permanente do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Arquitetura e Urbanismo da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. Tem experiência na área de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, com ênfase em Fundamentos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Arquitetura, Arte, Modernismo e Oscar Niemeyer. Desde 2007 tem atuado, também, enquanto artista plástico. 

Beatriz Basile da Silva Rauscher, Universidade Federal de Uberlândia

Artist and professor with post-doctorate in Art and Image Technology at the School of Fine Arts of the Federal University of Minas Gerais UFMG (2018); PhD in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2005); doctoral internship at UFR Cinéma et Audiovisuel de lUniversité Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle (2003). Master in Arts from the State University of Campinas (1993) and graduated in Fine Arts from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (1984). Full Professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia. She worked on the Undergraduate Course in Visual Arts (since 1992) and the Postgraduate Program in Arts (2009-2019). She was coordinator of the Undergraduate Course in Plastic Arts / UFU (1997-1999) and Head of the Department of Plastic Arts / UFU (2006-2007). She coordinated the Postgraduate Program in Arts / UFU (2010 -2012) and the University Museum of Art / UFU (2005-2008). She has been a member of the National Association of Researchers in Fine Arts (ANPAP) since 2006. She was a researcher at the Hybrid Processes in Contemporary Art Group at UFRGS (2005 to 2016) at the BE-IT Group: Bureau of Studies on Image and Time at UFMG ( 2018-2021) . She is currently a researcher at the Poéticas da Imagem Research Group UFU. She was editor of the scientific journal Revista Ouvir-IARTE-UFU (2014-2020) and has been editor of the scientific journal Estado da Arte-Revista de Artes Visuais da UFU since 2020. She coordinated the Forum of Editors of periodicals in the field of Visual Arts (2019 -2021). She has experience in the area of Visual Arts, with an emphasis on the Poetics of Image, working in exhibitions and with publications on the following themes: photography, image, landscape, urban poetics.
