Scenes of an occupation

Abstract

This article seeks to investigate the practices and limits of the social movements performance fighting for the right to housing, in view of new and old reconfigurations of popular territories and the protagonism of the populations that inhabit them in the context of urban conflicts and the formation of political subjects. Through field reports, it seeks to identify some of the actors present in the struggle for the regularization of an occupation, as well as their intertwining, in the dispute for the construction – or not – of the political struggle Within that, from the scenes apprehended in the field, the writing intends to raise hypotheses about the paths traced for the urban space production, identifying strategies that form and characterize it, as well as its capacities or limits to emancipate the subjects in struggle, in view of the modulations of neoliberal strategic rationality on Brazilian soil.
