A caminho da metropolização? Transformações espaciais de Uberlândia (MG)

Résumé

No último século, verifica-se maior complexidade na organização interna das cidades, assim como uma necessidade cada vez maior de interação entre os núcleos urbanos. O presente trabalho visa tecer reflexões sobre a cidade de Uberlândia-MG, sob a perspectiva de sua centralidade e da tendência de se conformar como futura metrópole. São feitas considerações sobre a organização interna dessa cidade, e seu papel na rede urbana da qual faz parte. Para alcançar os objetivos propostos pelo estudo, foi realizada uma breve discussão teórica, bem como caracterização do município de Uberlândia-MG, segundo sua importância regional, aliada à sua dinâmica intraurbana.

On the Way to Metropolization? Uberlândia's (MG) Spatial Transformations

Abstract

In the last century, there is  more complexity in internal organization of cities and a need of interaction between the urban  centers. This paper aims to make reflections about UberlândiaMG, from the perspective of its centrality and the tendency to conform as a future metropolis.We discuss the internal organization of this city, and its role in the urban network to which it belongs.  To reach the objectives proposed by the study was conducted a brief theoretical discussion, as well as  characterization of Uberlândia-MG, according to their  regional importance, coupled with its dynamic inner city.
