Introduction: Endometriosis is a gynecological disease that affects women of reproductive age, it is characterized by the presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus causing symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia and fatigue, affecting women’s quality of life. Objectives: To identify the role of nursing in the care of women with endometriosis and the perception of the disease by affected patients. Methods: This is an integrative literature review in databases, including articles between 2012 and 2021, in Portuguese and English. We found 552 articles and selected 09 that met the inclusion criteria. Considering its thematic axes, three categories were created: Perception of the disease in women affected by endometriosis, nursing strategies implemented to alleviate symptoms related to endometriosis and Nursing performance for women with endometriosis, from diagnosis to treatment. Results: The articles showed that women have an incorrect/insufficient knowledge about endometriosis and that although nursing has a fundamental role in the care of patients affected by this pathology, there is still a long way to go in relation to its performance. Conclusion: Nursing must act in the promotion and health education of these patients. However, the study showed that there is a large deficit in this area, requiring professionals to specialize to ensure assertive and comprehensive care for these patients.
