Violence and care for children and adolescents: experience report of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health in the Health Program at School

Introduction: Violence is a serious public health problem with historical, cultural, social and political roots, representing a violation of the rights established by the Child and Adolescent Statute. Objective: To report a pedagogical experience of caring for children and adolescents with regard to the theme of violence from the experience of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health in the Health Program at School (PSE). Methods: This is an experience-report-type study, built from the inclusion of a team of residents of the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Child and Adolescent Health in the PSE. By highlighting the theme of violence by the Municipal Health Department, to be worked on in the PSE, were held intersectorial meetings, meetings with the pedagogical team of the school involved and conversation circle with class leaders, to develop the care devices to be described in this report. Results: It emphasizes three pedagogical devices developed by the team that supported the work during its course. Of the total of 179 participants, 15 (12%) sought the team after the end of each meeting to share or ask questions about a potential situation of violence. Conclusion: It is perceived that the PSE is a powerful practice space for the promotion of health care for children and adolescents in relation to violence, as well as the potential of interactive pedagogical strategies in health education, not only to detect cases of violence, as well as to improve co-responsibility networks for care.
