Author Biography

Arthur de Lima Barra Melo, Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais

Arthur de Lima Barra Melo is a master's student in the Postgraduate Program in History at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. In the field of academic research, Arthur Melo dedicates himself to the history of abolition, the abolitionist movement, the periodical press of the Brazilian Empire, intellectual history and the history of slavery. He also works in the field of cultural production, being one of the creators of the Kinanga Fair, held by Casa de Caridade Pai Jacob do Oriente; event that becomes the rescue of Afro-Brazilian, Afro-peripheral and Afro-religious culture in Belo Horizonte and Minas Gerais.
