El falso péndulo: América Latina y el Caribe en el desorden global

El presente artículo discute la coyuntura de América Latina y el Caribe, ante el sesgo liberal-conservador que se observa en varios nuevos gobiernos de la región, que revertiría el “giro a la izquierda” de los años previos. Desde una mirada de economía política, se propone comprender los cambios en la región a partir de tres elementos: a) el desorden global explícito desde el estallido de la crisis en 2008; b) las continuidades estructurales socio-económicas que condicionan los cambios políticos; y c) la complejidad de los procesos políticos que excede la representación de los gobiernos. Estos elementos cuestionan la idea de un péndulo entre gobiernos progresistas y conservadores en la región.
